Description
Flyer for the August 13, 2016 March Against Gentrification, Racism & Police Violence in Flatbush and East Flatbush. The illustrations depict three young black people, Kimani Gray, Kyam Livingston, Shantel Davis, killed by NYPD in Brooklyn. The bottom of the flyer depicts Flatbush residents with picket signs reading "tenants fight back," "stop foreclosures," #BlackLivesMatter, "Brooklyn is Not for Sale," "Brooklyn No Se Vende," "Brooklyn Pa Pou La Vant". The bottom left of the illustration on the flyer represents a Dollar Van named black star.
The flyer was produced by Equality for Flatbush, a grassroots community organization, and distributed at the July 13th march in memory of Kyam Livingston and Sandra Bland as part of the national #SayHerName #BlackLivesMatter movement.
