Description
Double LP Compilation of demo tracks sent to the seminal DIY Anarcho Punk Label Crass Records (run by the highly influential band of the same name)

Statement from the record:

"BULLSHIT TWO is a compilation of tapes that people have sent to us over the last year-- we haven't attempted to smooth out the sound, the tracks are just as we received them, we selected them not so much for what they sounded like, but for what they said-- we sent back some tapes because of poor quality, it was generally because the vocals were too low to make the words distinguishable- (if you're going to do a cassette of a band it is worth checking that the vocals are loud enough before you get down to serious recording)
Some people complained that the last Bullshit was badly recorded- they'll probably sayt he same about this one- Bullshit doesn't pretend to be flash production, its a document of what people are doing, how they're doing it and the places (from bedrooms to small commercial studios) in which they're doing it- no one expects a fanzine to look like Vogue magazine, so why should Bullshit sound like Haircut 100?
A lot of hte bands on this album may not fit the facile image of what the music press tell us punk's about- their idea that punk is a mindless variety of HM [ed: Heavy Metal] (all balls and no brain is the limitation that they place on it- in reality punk is an attitude of mind, a form of protest against an unjust and uncaring society- punk is concerned with ideas, not last weekds throwaway fashion. The tracks on this album express the 'real punk spirit'- protest, independence, originality and lack of compromise, even if some of them don't conform to the media idea of what punk 'should be'.
Punk is about 'doing it yourself' and Bullshit is a compilation of bands and individuals who have done exactly that- it isn't going to get anyone on Top of the Pops, but, because it shows that there are people who want more out of life than personal gain, it offers HOPE and that's something that the plastic-punk and the media-parasites will never give us."
